Assessing Millets and Sorghum Consumption Behavior in Urban India: A Large-Scale Survey

There is growing attention by governments and industry in regard to the role played millets (including sorghum) help build resilience for farmers cope with climate change, malnutrition, diabetes, some other major issues. To understand public knowledge practices of consuming urban areas, a survey was conducted 15,522 individuals from seven cities India using structured questionnaire, after data cleaning 15,139 observations were subjected analysis descriptive inferential statistics. It found that largest group among early adopters people health problems (28%), it being single reason millets, followed those wanting lose weight (15%) selecting its taste (14%). significant gap between who conscious (91%) sure healthy (40%). The respondents did not eat more eaten at home (40%), reactions such as liking (22%). Reaching consumers through social media recommended, given their main source information. no statistically relationship state-wise per capita production frequency consumption areas ( p = 0.236). In conclusion, three key actions are recommended enhance millets: developing delicious products satisfy taste, providing on nutritional facts improving accessibility markets.
